This is a relief custom woodcarving of the Station of the Cross using a more modern approach. The sculpture has been primed and then hand painted with natural colors and no varnish. We use an agate stone to polish the piece and make sure the color absorbs into the wood.

The interior of the Cathedral is majestic, leaves you in awe. The statue you see is the famous flayed San Bartolomeo by artist Marco d’Agrate. He was skinned alive, so is often shown in religious artwork as holding his own skin. In this case, he stands with his skin draped around him. Amazing artwork with so much detail.
